Kanye West is set to show second collection at Paris Fashion Week

Kanye West has announced his plans to show his second collection from his line – DW – at Paris Fashion Week in March 2012.

The musician is refusing to stick to his day job as a superstar rapper and is determined to continue his career as a fashion designer. France’s equivalent to the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), the Chambre Syndicale has confirmed that Kanye will be showing as part of the official PFW schedule on March 6th.

The boisterous superstar is not giving up on his fashion dreams despite the fact that his first collection got some pretty dire reviews.

“Next season Kanye should get a tailor so clothes might fit. Models swimming in some looks. Kills the hot look, no?” said Cathy Horyn from the New York Times. Lisa Armstrong from the Daily Telegraph had the following to say about the collection – “Kanye West’s fashion debut was like being subjected to an hour-long MRI scan – but not as much fun … It was the equivalent of Karl Lagerfeld launching a hip-hop career: ie absurd.”

Fashion critic Lisa Armstrong dubbed Kanye’s first collection “absurd”, but not in a good way.
